In its prototype stage, the Emperor is not as strong as Goldman had hoped, and falls to the AMS agents. After they defeat the Magician, they head to the top of the tower to confront the Emperor. Upon reaching the headquarters, they are confronted by Curien's masterpiece, The Magician, who was also revived by Goldman to oversee the birth of The Emperor, a shapeshifting crystalline entity with mastery over magnetism designed to protect nature from humanity. They drive over to Goldman's tower, fighting a revived Judgment, the Hierophant, and Tower. After they kill it, James and Gary push on, while Amy tends to Harry's wounds. The two quickly race to the Colosseum only to discover Amy and a wounded Harry, injured by Strength, a giant, chainsaw-wielding zombie which wounds Harry and chases James and Gary throughout the arena. After killing the mother serpent, they receive a phone call for help from Amy, before getting cut off. James and Gary split up again, and face off with a group of serpents known as The Tower. Goldman leaves a message on Amy's phone, inviting them to meet him at the Colosseum, which Harry fears to be a trap. It is also revealed that Goldman created the new zombies and released them into the city. It is revealed that the zombies were created by Caleb Goldman, the man who funded Doctor Curien in making his creations during the Curien Mansion incident. Upon defeating it, James, Gary, Amy and Harry get on a boat and continue through the rivers. Upon getting there the group faces off with The Hierophant, an aquatic fishlike humanoid which heads an assault on Venice's waterways and Central Plaza. After killing it, they meet up with Amy and Harry, who split up and try to meet at Sunset Bridge (or the wharf, depending on the player's actions). They continue on, trying to save the town's civilians from the zombies.ĭuring the chaos, James and Gary face Judgment consisting of Zeal and his giant, headless, axe-wielding armored puppet Kuarl. The pair are then met with a massive undead horde, similar to the kind from the Curien Mansion incident. Upon finding a wounded G alive in a local library, James and Gary converse with him and G gives them a field journal showing the bosses and weak points. They suddenly encounter the impish Zeal, who had recently dealt with G. On February 26, 2000, American AMS agents James Taylor and Gary Stewart are dispatched, along with Amy Crystal and Harry Harris, to investigate and evacuate the populace of Venice. The flashbacks to the first The House of the Dead in the game's introductory sequence were recorded using the game's engine.ĪMS Agent G's further investigation on the 1998 Curien Mansion incident leads to his mysterious disappearance upon his discovery of the remnants of Dr. The game served as the springboard for the arcade, Sega Dreamcast, and PC release The Typing of the Dead, the Nintendo DS release English of the Dead, as well as the inspiration for the Game Boy Advance game, The Pinball of the Dead. This is expanded upon with far more paths than the original and can even lead to completely different stage layouts/locations, although the general story itself will always remain the same. Like the first game, it incorporates a branching path system that allows for a variety of different routes in each stage depending on the players actions. Bonus health can be awarded by rescuing civilians and finding first aid kits hidden in crates and barrels. Health is represented by torches at the bottom of the screen and are lost when the play is hit by an enemy or shoots a civilian. Players must shoot their way through hordes of zombies and other monsters while attempting to rescue civilians being attacked. It includes an auto-reload feature that allows players to point their guns off-screen to reload their weapons without pulling the trigger. The House of the Dead 2 is a rail shooter light gun game.

Coordinating both characters is the key to victory, since puzzles often require both characters in certain locations to solve - or for one character to hold off the bad guys while the other works. For a while, she thought she had healing powers. She fell into a Messiah complex after shooting up an abortion clinic and getting publicly lauded by fundamentalists in the aftermath. She’s dying for acceptance and desperately clinging to her faith in the hell of imprisonment. Pennsatucky, probably OITNB’s biggest malevolent force, is pretty sympathetic considering how many horrible and vindictive choices she makes. Except for maybe the entire male prison staff, no one on this show is easy to flat-out dislike. “Life brought rewards, but no lasting peace or satisfaction.” Without spoiling the story, I'm going to share below some of the most powerful insights for me. The story essentially chronicles Dan's story through life to evolve himself into a Peaceful Warrior, with all the powerful lessons that he's learning from Socrates. It isn't until one night Dan wakes up in the middle of the night and decides to take a walk to a nearby gas station that he encounters an old man that he calls Socrates, who begins mentoring him and exposes how deeply unhappy Dan is. On the surface, Dan has it all – he's good looking, popular, gets great grades, has women chasing him, his dad has plenty of money, great physical shape… yet, there's something missing. The book shares Dan's journey through university as a world-champion gymnast who has a passion to succeed and make it to the Olympics. Way of the Peaceful Warrior is a true story, based on the life of Dan Millman. The Way of the Peaceful Warrior changes lives. I highly recommend you pick up the book, or at least watch the movie. In this Way of the Peaceful Warrior book review, I'm going to share some of the most powerful insights that I've had that really stuck out for me and has made a difference in my life. I loved the book so much that I decided to read the follow-up book called Wisdom of the Peaceful Warrior, which goes deeper into the lessons and concepts from the Way of the Peaceful Warrior. Around a month or so ago, I re-watched the movie and decided to pick up the book to learn more about Dan Millman's story and philosophy towards life. I originally watched the Peaceful Warrior movie years ago and it had a lot of powerful lessons and insights that I had used to improve my life. A fantastic book that I recently finished reading and studying is the Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman, which has really changed my way of thinking lately and I've been working on practicing the concepts in the book. This can last reasonably long(without staying beyond its welcome), entirely dependent on the player's skill, as well as such variables as persistence, and more often than not, luck. Your efforts will be evaluated and rated, whenever you complete a scenario(you can even be promoted). This takes you across a vast number of different locations, and nothing really comes off as having been phoned in. The music is a score that is never out of place or doesn't fit(sound in general is quite magnificently done). There is a lot of sophistication herein(if not as much as the later ones, but as a starting point, this is undeniably about spot-on). A bit too much trial and error is necessary, even about things that ought to be obvious. There are several cinematics, well-edited and put together expertly(if they aren't as effective as the later ones tend to be) made up of actual footage from the time, narrated, and they really help with the overall mood, and feeling of accomplishment. Graphics are nice, if mostly "for the time", and effects are well-done. This is almost unblemished as far as glitches go, and there are no real show-stoppers(unfortunately, on a newer machine, it may kick you out due to memory issues, but this happens so seldom that it's by no means a problem that can't be solved largely by saving often, which you should be doing anyway in this). this was improved upon in the followups). The objectives could perhaps be more varied(one certain thing seems to be kind of a stand-by, a well that they go to pretty often. All missions are preceded by a briefing, which always starts with a brief update of how the war is going, which point this takes place at(even with a date), and it's backed up by authentic photos. This is somewhat open, but there is admittedly at parts a sense that you're meant to figure out what they intended for you to do, in the order and the way they planned it. go(the troops, both sides' vehicles, areas. There is high realism throughout, and almost everything is designed to a strong accurate measure, as far as period, people, architecture, etc. This could be smoother(and is, in the sequels)(meanwhile, it definitely beats its concurrent counterparts). The concept is excellent and majorly pays off. The difficulty level is ever-so-slightly uneven. It can, however, also be rather rewarding and entertaining. This should not be confused with simplicity or lack of challenging game-play. you can get right into this with very little, if any, prior knowledge or instruction(and this does have six interactive tutorials(and some video ones), one per Commando, taking place in a safe environment, and which can be tried as many times as you feel like it. One of the first things you notice about this is how accessible the interface is. It takes a lot of precision and exact timing to do well in this. You will most certainly need tactics, and ones that are thought out well, to come out victorious. You are ridiculously outnumbered, you're in territory under Nazi control, and the tasks you are to carry out are hardly a walk in the park. Taking place during the second World War, this puts you in charge of a team of six men on the Allied side(of distinct nationalities), each specializing in his field(covering almost everything you could think of that could be useful, strategic and cool.this was expanded further(complete with more individuals added, and more abilities) later in the series, in fact right away, which is not to insinuate that this was missing much of anything), and almost invariably indispensable(and the correct use of what they can do, proper utilization of their different talents a necessity) whenever available(you didn't think you were gonna get to use them all every time, did you?). Are you still with me? Then by all means, read on. There is no base, you construct no buildings, you do not lead, or train, an army, being discovered by the enemy forces is seldom something you will survive(and you can neither build a defense to keep them at bay nor overwhelm them with superior numbers), at no point do you gather resource, and Fog of War takes a prolonged vacation for the entire duration of this(presumably, it needs it, so much work for so many franchises). But before the world knew this title, it would have been difficult to come up with many that steer clear of the standard formula. maybe even name some favorites and/or the best released.
